MBIA Elects New Officers
Baltimore, Md. — The Maryland Business Incubation Association (MBIA) has elected  a new slate of officers for its current fiscal year.  Michael Dailey, Executive Director of the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc (FITCI) has been elected President of the statewide organization and leads a slate of officers including Wanda Plumer, Prince George's County Technology Assistance Center, as Vice-President, Carol Morrison, Neo-Tech Incubator of Howard County, as Secretary and Walt Schultz, Tech Center at UMBC, as Treasurer.

 

“The Maryland Business Incubation Association plays an important role in the development and support of entrepreneurship and business throughout the state of Maryland,” said Dailey.  “I’m honored to take the role of President and look forward to the continued growth and excellent work the MBIA and all of the business incubators do in supporting some of the most exciting companies in Maryland.  Our priorities for this next year are to continue the strong role Maryland’s business incubators provide to the state’s start-up businesses.” Dailey continued.

 

“Maryland is fortunate to have a robust support structure for entrepreneurs. There are over 15 business incubators in the State of Maryland and the number is increasing” stated Renee Winsky, Executive Director of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO).  These incubators have graduated some of Maryland’s most innovative companies and we are proud to help support these organizations.  We look to the business incubators and the MBIA for their leadership to assist their client companies in accelerating the client companies development and graduation in order to take their proper seat within Maryland’s business community.”

 

With financial support from both local municipal and state governments and educational institutions, Maryland Business incubators provide critical support to Maryland’s thriving entrepreneurs.”  Dailey continued.  “Often times entrepreneurs using a business incubator are exposed to more contacts, a larger network of support advisors, more and diversified funding assistance and larger pools of professional business consulting.  MBIA’s

 

 

MBIA (www.mdbusinessincubation.org.) is a private professional organization dedicated to the process of offering entrepreneurial companies low rent, shared Internet and phone lines, and valuable business planning and advice.  MBIA establishes standards for incubators throughout the State, works to increase awareness of business incubation, and urges excellence in incubator programs.  Formed in 2001, MBIA is comprised of manager supervising active business incubators in the State of Maryland.
